Neuro‑Inclusive Intro to Play

Neuro‑Inclusive Intro to Play

Supported by the USTA Community Engagement Grant, our Neuro-Inclusive Intro to Play program provides a welcoming, accessible first tennis experience for neurodivergent youth. Running from March through May 2027, this entry-level initiative focuses on creating a positive foundation that establishes a clear pathway toward continued developmental and recreational play.

During these sessions, we utilize structured small-group instruction, modified equipment, and adaptive teaching methods tailored to each child’s unique communication and sensory needs. To ensure every participant feels confident and included, Neuro‑Inclusive Tennis™ certified coaches serve as mentors, maintaining a 1:2 coach‑to‑student ratio to deliver a successful and sensory‑friendly tennis class. These coaches provide personalized on‑court encouragement and modeling, transforming the court into a barrier‑free space where young athletes can learn fundamental skills and form meaningful connections.
